Off with his hair!

What I read

After the serious topics in the new blogs this morning, I wanted something a bit more fun to finish my coffee with, and the front page of the BBC provided in "Prince William sports shaved head on royal visit"

What it says

The article reports that William has adopted a military-style cropped hair style which makes no effort to hide his growing baldness, about which members of his family, the British royal family, have make jokes in the past.

My response

I can really relate to William, who is second in line to the British throne after his father Charles. My own hair started receding in late high school, and by the time I was 30, I had a large bald patch on top just like my father did when he was 30. I guess it's all my father's fault. And like William's family, some of my nearest and dearest, and less close friends, also made jokes about my receding hairline.

I think Williams solution is the right one. I decided around age 30 that it was silly to try and pretend that I had a full head of hair when I obviously do not, so I've been cropping or shaving ever since.

I strongly recommend this hairstyle. It is very low maintenance,  requiring a simple touch up a couple of times a week that can easily be done at home. It saves a fortune on shampoo that need never be bought, and there is never any danger of the wind messing up your hair. A bonus with ageing is that it doesn't so readily reveal the fact that the colour has now changed from "a sable silvered" to a silver sabled. (Sorry for the last bit – the temptation to copy Shakespeare's antique English was irresistible. If you can't guess the meaning, Google the bit I copied in "quotation marks".)

  1. And I was able to keep the first two parts to one sentence each.
    Total time writing = 15 minutes (7:06 - 7:21). That's good.

    1. this story had a doctrine behind a joke. I think I agree with you that baldness is not peculiar. It can occur in every child or adult. Frankly speaking, Baldness is just effect of genetic gradient in every human. How fast are we bald is base on the degree of baldness-related genes will be expressed. Hence, are you bald is not important, the key of living is that you need accept the truth, adapting to live with it happily and dare to meet up the society with it. As Prince William done, this is the sign to fight the gossip and joke with your true character and live with it. I want to say lastly is please live and learn yourself and fight for love yourself.
      Thanks you

    2. William could probably still get a little shorter, but then, I also went through a phase of cropping before I opted for shaving.
